That's nice Bryn, I like the shots. Works really nice with the magician card.

Thanks, aspen I am a tarot collector and have over 100 decks for artworks. I love to see people's creative ideas, they're all so different. I was a graphic designer artist for 17 years for a newspaper co. in Miami, FL. Too bad I don't have a Mac, Photoshop, Illustration, etc. I checked, but they're very expensive to buy/own.  sorry

#2 Card is The High Priestess

This lovely lady is rich with symbolism. She sits serenely between the twin pillars of the Temple of Solomon, and holds in her lap a scroll of wisdom. She carries a cross on her chest, with arms of equal length, indicating the balance of darkness and light, of positive and negative. Behind the High Priestess hangs a curtain decorated with pomegranates and palm trees, symbols of the divine female and male energies. Her crown displays a full moon, and she is the symbol of every virgin goddess.

High Priestess stand between two pillars, and appears to hold a scroll in each hand. ... Meaning: Activism, commitment, intellectual persuasion...

The High Priestess is the symbol of spiritual enlightenment, inner illumination, and the link between the seen and the unseen. She is balance and power in a feminine form. In a spread she often represents an unrevealed future with hidden influences at work, and a need to trust in one's intuition.

High Priestess is properly the most profound card to read in the majors. ... When the priestess is a card that needs attention, she is kind of like The ... ones beliefs onto others or becomes an activist. ...

Guess what she represents for the Technofogger Tarot?

The High Priestess represents the activists.

The Activists! We've been working for our Right to Vape. We try to debunk FDA's claims that our beloved e-cigarettes are unsafe yet harmful/deadly tobacco analogs are still approved. We fight the injustices like anti-smoking organizations that claimed they're dangerous and are attractive to children. We've fighting the Big Pharma that wants FDA to regulate e-cigarettes as medical devices/smoking cessation for more $$$$. We're always seeking new studies to be conducted. We're campaigning, blogging, we've united from all over the World, joining in this fight to keep e-cigarettes/e-liquids legal and safe.

Activism, in a general sense, can be described as intentional action to bring about social change, political change, economic justice, or environmental wellbeing. This action is in support of, or opposition to, one side of an often controversial argument.

The word "activism" is often used synonymously with protest or dissent, but activism can stem from any number of political orientations and take a wide range of forms, from writing letters to newspapers or politicians, political campaigning, economic activism (such as boycotts or preferentially patronizing preferred businesses), rallies, blogging and street marches, strikes, both work stoppages and hunger strikes, or even guerrilla tactics.

In some cases, activism has nothing to do with protest or confrontation: for instance, some religious, feminist or vegetarian/vegan activists try to persuade people to change their behavior directly, rather than persuade governments to change laws. The cooperative movement seeks to build new institutions which conform to cooperative principles, and generally does not lobby or protest politically.

Transformational open-sourced activism is the idea that you can tap into the power of mass collaboration and collective creativity in a way that transforms the people involved into more loving, peaceful, compassionate states.

Here's list of famous people known as "High Priestess" or "High Priest" who are/were the activists:

Abena Disroe, the High Priestess of Poetry, Educator, Community Activist, Author, Public Speaker and director/founder of The Poets Den has been selected to represent Washington, DC

A High Priestess of Ideals - March 29, 2007 - The New York Sun. ... The British writer and political activist Nancy Cunard (1896–1965)

The High Priestess, of course, is the controversial Tarot card depicting a ... is one belonging to many famous human rights activists, like Rosa Parks.

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Alice Walker: feminist-writer-poet-activist and literary high priestess Alice Walker returns to form with a collection of poems about war, falling bodies, the ancestors, trees and everything holistic here on Earth.

Nina Simone - High Priestess of Soul - Sometimes known as the High Priestess of Soul, she paid great attention to the musical ... songwriter, pianist, arranger and civil rights activist. ...

George Tiller, “High Priest of Late Term Abortions”, an activist for abortion rights gunned down inside Kansas church ...

LOL, C. Yes, that is true.

When the High Priestess is blocked, she could be a right down b****, nagging and splitting people around her apart. She is likely to use her wisdom in a backward manner, just for the sake of it, when she is blocked or out of balance with her self.

Right to Vape's motto here should be "Be like a High Priestess upright."  nun  Not just here, but applies to other e-cig forums like ECF and VF.  wink

Example: Silicon Valley Tarot ... it has a lot in common with computers

Traditional High Priestess becomes The Furturist for Silicon Valley Tarot

The Futurist

Bolstered by a knowledge of the present and past, the futurist consults his crystal ball - or whatever stochastic modeling software passes for same - and tries to divine the future. His rates are high, and he has little to show for his work. Still, he's very entertaining at company parties and staff meetings. Is he a wise man, or only a jester? Anticipation, vision, foresight, alchemy. Reversed: eccentricity, hubris, con-artistry.

Traditional High Priestess is renamed

The Activist

The Activist

Of course, this is what Kate used for her avatar, but this was created by Gregory Bakery. This artwork is called "Cigar Smoking Nun with Barbed Wire Halo". I think this one is appropriate for "The Activist" in place of traditional High Priestess. This represents Kate all right, and it also represents all of us, the activists. She will always be remembered for her tireless effort to fight for e-cigarettes/right to vape, always reaching out to help the newbies at ECF, as a community organizer here at RTV. The Archetypal of the High Priestess symbolizes the wisdom she offers.

Card #3 is The Empress

Many decks depict the Empress as pregnant. This is very symbolic, and when pulled, this card conveys a message that the situation is pregnant with promise - full of opportunity. Along with the symbolism of pregnancy holding promise, comes the waiting period. Just as there is an incubation time until the child comes forth, so too is there a time of waiting until our desires become manifest.

She assures that all the elements are in place so that growth occurs, and bounty is harvested. She also reminds us that the seeds we sow are in direct relation to the harvest we shall reap - a time to sow, a time to grow and a time to pick the fruits of our labor.

Key Words for the Empress Tarot Card Meanings

Promise -- Femininity -- Abundance -- Creativity -- Assurance

Silicon Valley Tarot

Instead of tradition Empress it's called

The Garage

Historically, the Garage is the Valley's primary engine of creation. Big New Ideas are germinated in humble surroundings at odd hours. The moon smiles upon such exploration unfettered by corporate constraint. Though it may seem the Garage is outgunned by mammoth office parks and grand laboratories throughout the Valley, the deck of history is stacked against them; the real action has always been "in the garage" - perpetrated by pathologically independent individuals in ramshackle workshops having original thoughts. All that mighty commercial squabbling and NASDAQ turbulence is just the foam in the Garage's wake. Don't breathe the fumes. Creativity, inspiration. Reversed: megalomania, quixotic optimism, unrecognized opportunity.

What is the Empress of the Technofoggers?

Traditional Empress becomes "The Fog" for Technofoggers.

The Fog

Inventor Hon Lik says the idea of the electronic cigarettes came to him in a dream in 2000: Coughing and wheezing, he imagined he was drowning, until suddenly the waters around him lifted into a fog.

Where an idea of e-cigarettes producing vapor/fog was born.

- Our modders

- But perhaps also the smoker-for-many years, when taking his/her very first steps into e-smoking. There is awe; there is an intense feeling of joy and gratefulness for this new thing; and accompanying it there is the promise being felt of greater well-being in the future to come. This might not be easy to catch in a picture; and there are also a few other cards where this first experience could fit well also - but in a way it fits as Emptress too, I think... not sure where would be best.

(Edit: and your idea of the fog can fit well, if not best, also of course Smiley - nice picture btw!)

Thank you Bryn and Katink for an Inspirational and Poetic Technofoggy Day!
I can certainly remember my first days of vaping and that "intense feeling of joy and gratefulness for this new thing"

Thanks, Katink and Caesarea  sport-smiley-001

I did do research on the Empress. The Fog is very fitting for Technofoggers in place of traditional Empress.

Check post #29. We have personal computers, Windows, Apple Mac, etc. now. Steve Job and Bill Gates started in a small garage with an idea, a seed to sow. In end Bill Gates is one of the richest people in the world. They both paved a way to make it possible for us all to have high tech advances and we're able to connect with people from all over the world now via interweb. A seed was planted in the garage. What came out of it is the harvest ... wealth for Steve Job and Bill Gates, us little people are able to enjoy personal computers with amazing softwares in our own home. Where it all started, where it began. In Silicon Valley Tarot, The Garage is used in place of the Empress.

A project is one of things the Empress represents.

The Empress holds a key to heaven. She is often seen as pregnant. When you find a key, it becomes "pregnant" before the big harvest. She is Mother of all things. The Garage is mother of our personal computers and internet.

We would not have our e-cigarettes if it wasn't for Hon Lik's dream. He was struggling with coughs and wheezing in his chest, dreamt he was drowning, but fog around water lifted him up. A seed was planted in there.

Quote
suddenly the waters around him lifted into a fog

Water with fog above is the mother of our e-cigarettes and vapers. Hon Lik found his key ... came the harvest of our e-cigarettes, joyful and healthier vapers! Thus an image of fog above water in place of the Empress.

Don't worry, we will have vapers there, I didn't forget ...  as for the modder! I forgot this one so I am glad you brought it up.

Will discuss more later. Dogs are a-calling!
