Bryn, you story is really wonderful and I am enjoying it.

Since Kate may want to repair or may a new one herself, maybe yous should have your name on it, so we will know which is which by the title and the comment thread also. It is up to you. Just a suggestion to keep thing organized.

I will change the title if someone can make a better suggestion. I know the word "tarot" is taboo and tends to associate with black magic arts, but once you educate people the fact about tarot it becomes a great learning/teaching tool of symbols/archetypes -- as Jung would say... collective unconscious. Tarot was used for playing games for the royal in Italy in 16th century. Before that, no one knows.

Maybe "The Technofogger Taroochi"? The word "Tarot" came from Italian word "taroochi" which means "playing cards". The playing cards we have today came from taroochi with major arcana removed except for "Joker" (the Fool) that doesn't play. Four cards were removed from court cards. (Page or Knight)

I'd love for Kate to start a technofogger story when she's ready. It's fun. I don't mind starting over new there.

I've really enjoyed working on the tarot with you Bryn, you have some very interesting perspectives and information.

When I'm a bit better I'll get us another story thread going that we can manage together again if you want.

For me there is a lot of psychic energy and psychological meaning with the symbols so I have to be careful about becoming so intensely involved that it stops me from being grounded.

Thanks, Kate  Cheesy

Barbara Walker, the scholar, said the tarot was quite religious because she could see that so many symbols came from the bible. (Archangel Michael as Temperance ... Justice, Judgment, Devil, Wheel, Pope, etc.) mixed with ancient history/myths/legends..

I will wait until you're better and comfortable. No hurry..if never I will understand.  wink

since my thread "Technofogger Tarot..." is based strongly on e-cigarette activism maybe we should call it "Right to Vape (insert something here)

"Right to Vape Tarot" looks strange to me. lol  Wouldn't want religious/fundamentalist anti-smoking groups coming after us, accuse us of vaping magic cloud.

They are only symbols but if you really see them with your mind you can connect with collective consciousness and collective memory.

Alaister Crawley said 'tarot is a razor' and I've found (sometimes at a cost) that is a reasonable assertion.

Maybe you could just have a working title for your deck for now until you've had a chance to see how they evolve.  Technofoggers are vapers so it's still appropriate for them to produce a vaping deck.  RtV might not be a good association, esoteric issues might confuse the cause in some minds.

True, Kate

I will stay with "The Technofogger Tarot" as I did think using "Right to Vape Tarot" would make anti-smoking groups go crazy. Not many people understand Tarot.

There was a program about Crowley being a black magican on TV not long ago here on Sci-Fic channel. It was pretty bad if the story is true. Yet his deck is lovely, painted by a lady named Freida ... directed by Crowley. I have this deck in my deck collection.

Yeah, he was a bit nutty I think.  I heard that he had 666 tattooed on his head, lol.  Not all of his analysis and ideas were nutty, he knew a lot about occult stuff and brought a lot of knowledge to public attention that might otherwise have been lost or covered up.

I can't see tarot being covered by RtVs aims and objectives any time soon, ha  Wink

Do you think we should let Tadsdad know about "The Technofogger Tarot" being created as online tech tarot only? Is he the one who created "The Order of the Wholey Technofoggers"?  Could you tell me the history of WTF, Kate? It looked like to me it was set up for you since you were a "cigar smoking nun" with a bunch of lolcats. It was funny.

Oh, I know!! I will call it "The WTF Tarot".  Should have thought of this one. lol

edit to add "the" to WTF Tarot.

I like WTF Tarot, that sounds good.

A while back I got bored and decided to have a laugh and start a conversation about a vaping cult over at (the now dead) Ecigforum.  I wrote the basic spiel about it being a collective etc. and to my surprise loads of people joined the thread to join in.  Then I started a thread at ECF with the same intro. and again it was very popular so I started a social group there.  That did quite well for a while but the social problems with that forum didn't do it any favours.  Then ECF kicked me out so I asked for a dedicated board here and also started a group up at Vapers Forum.  So there are little bases on various forums for Technofoggers but I think I was seen as a leader or something and not many people have taken initiative to keep things going much.

So the Order was my idea but I don't own it or anything, it's a fairly anarchic, self organising collective that has multiple locations.

Back in the ECF days Tasdad registered the technofoggers.com domain name.  He has it redirecting to this board now so in a way this is like an official address.

Keltrey did the logo and Tasdad tidied it up and improved it so it would be good for printing on t-shirts.  WTF logo merchandise is available from Tasdad's shop (I'd tell you the address but I haven't got it anymore I'm afraid).

I missed ecigforum.com, never been there so I didn't see it. The story is interesting and funny, too. Who came up with term "Technofoggers"? This is a great creative name for vapers. ECF WTF was popular until you got kicked out then it just stopped ... moving a little bit..just barely. It's full of T-Shirt threads now. lol

Maybe when RTV evolves, WTF will break away from RTV and be a stand alone website for a vaping cult since Tasdad already registered the domain name for WTF.

I have Tasdad's web addy saved in my bookmark because I would like to order WTF shirts for my two big dogs. When I find it I will post the link here.

edit: found Tasdad's web addy    http://www.cafepress.com/Tasdad/6552816#cw9

My two dogs will look cool in WTF t-shirts for when winter comes here.

Ha, yes the merchandise looks good.

I found the logos again:

I don't know if WTF will ever be organised enough to manage a website or if there's even any interest anymore.  There's always the possibility of RtV kicking the Technofoggers out I suppose.

Back in the early days there was talk about semantics and what to call vaping and the hardware.  Technofogger was one of mine, ha.  I thought it sounded daft enough for a cult.

I have 3 more to go on the WFT tarot (major arcana) before starting a new thread for court and ace cards.

The Moon for the WTF ... hmmmmm I need an idea to match it up to ecig activism. I've been looking through and have no idea at the moment.
