E-cigarettes are not quit smoking devices or NRTs! They are a cigarette alternative. Any supplier that states otherwise is incorrect.

Now that's out of the way, what we can say is that many MANY people have reported they quit (usually with ease) using E-cigs. I live in a household with 3 former smokers (including myself) and we've all quit using these devices. My mother was smoking for 40 some years and has never been able to quit, but since I introduced her to these she hasn't looked back. My fiance and I have had the same experience. I think that a big part of the smoking addiction aside from nicotine is the rituals and the actual smoke. The E-cig covers those areas without the tar and 1000's of chemicals in cigarette smoke.

Here are some threads on users and their success stories

To give you an idea on savings using E-cigs... to replace my 2 pack a day habit I'll be saving $2000 a year! Most people find that this quickly becomes a hobby, and if you buy 5 different models then you won't save as much. The $2000 can vary greatly depending on your supplier and how much you'll use it also.

So, in short these are an alternative to smoking. Not everyone decides to quit completely, but most people find that at the least they've greatly cut back or quit not even meaning to. It's a personal decision. You can get rid of a nicotine addiction by lowering your nicotine levels in the liquid if you want.
